SMPK has made a substantial shift in its programming approach over the years. From direct service provision to enabling poor and vulnerable groups, SMPK has evolved into a rights-based organization to deal with underlying causes of poverty. Our focus is explicitly on the well-being, social position, and rights of girls from marginalized communities.
SMPK focuses on developing the potential of women and girls to drive long-lasting equitable changes. We strategically emphasize promoting quality healthcare, inclusive education, gender-equitable and sustainable livelihood opportunities, and disaster relief and preparedness.
Our Activities
COVID-19 Relief for Migrant Workers and Daily Wage Laborers
India has been in internment since twenty-five March to manage the Covid-19 pandemic, inflicting mass layoffs and serious job losses. Lots of desperate migrant employees, significantly daily-wage earners, facing starvation once losing jobs are fleeing cities on foot to come back to their villages. Facilitate security by state governments in terms of money transfers and free ration kit distribution has not reached several sections, because of the sheer numbers concerned and lack of ration cards with migrant guest employees.
FUNDRAISERS
SMPK establishes partnerships and builds networks and liaisons with corporates, like-minded national and international development agencies, and educational institutions with the primary objective of connecting their domain expertise, resources, and strengths with its development initiatives. Over the years, many prominent corporates, development agencies, donor organizations, confederations, associations, and institutions have joined hands with SMPK and strengthened its welfare programs. In line with its belief in promoting civic-driven change in society, SMPK also involves individuals directly in the process of development.
